From grapes to wine - The Harvest

Fall is the most exciting time of the year for a winemaker. The grapes are ready to be harvested!

In modern times machines are regularly used to harvest the grapes, however some wineries continue with the hand-picked tradition. This is usually the case when the wine makerwants to ensure only the highest quality grapes enter the batch, or because the terrain is too steep for a machine to traverse.

Below we show the harvest from GM Wine, who hand-pick their grapes. While the process is laborious it can also be a lot of fun! Especially if the weather is as nice as it was in September 2020.
